Webinar details
The fourth industrial revolution is currently at the centre of interest for many manufacturers due to the benefits it offers in areas such as condition monitoring and machine-to-machine connectivity, enabling more precise and efficient control. This, in turn, improves availability and efficiency while reducing downtime. However, to facilitate the implementation of Industry 4.0 practices, the technologies of the third industrial revolution must already be in place, alongside a high level of expertise in programming and analytical software. The third industrial revolution was primarily characterised by the introduction of computer-based automation systems used to monitor and control manufacturing assets. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), however, still rely heavily on older machines that are largely unautomated or only semi-automated and often lack the monitoring tools required to support IoT applications. In this session, we will discuss the integration of IoT devices with a laser cutting machine for monitoring the condition of critical components.
Key takeaways from this webinar:
- IoT hierarchy
- Condition monitoring
- Assets reliability
