Dr. Walid Issa – ECT Programme Leader

Dr Walid Issa received his PhD in Renewable Energy from the University of Exeter, 2015. Dr. Walid joined Sheffield Hallam in 2016 as a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering then he led the MEng/BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering course from 2017 – 2021. He was promoted to Associate Professor in Power Electronics in 2022. He joined ECT in 2025 as Program Leader of Electrical Engineering. His main research interests include power electronics and their applications microgrids, EV and smart buildings.
