Webinar details

This is the first webinar in a 5-part webinar series on The Evolution of Modern Power Systems – Grid Integration, BESS, and the Modern Grid in Practice. Solar and wind power are a vital part of a clean energy future, but they behave very differently from traditional power plants. At the same time, a new kind of demand is emerging: AI data centers, which need enormous, reliable amounts of power around the clock. This session gives a friendly, big-picture introduction to why renewable growth and rising digital infrastructure demand are together reshaping how power grids need to work, and how engineers use detailed computer simulation to study these changes safely before they happen in the real world.

  • The webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards.
  • A certificate of attendance will be provided to attendees who request one near the end of the live webinar session.
  • Please note: the time stated on this event is in UTC. You will need to convert this to your own time zone.

Key takeaways from this webinar:

  • Why solar and wind power are trickier for grid operators to manage than traditional power plants
  • Why AI data centers are becoming one of the biggest new sources of electricity demand
  • How engineers use simulation tools to safely study grid changes before rolling them out in real life

Meet the Presenter

Hanane Oudli, Electrical Engineer | Founder & CEO, Hanane Global Advisory Inc.

Hanane Oudli is an Electrical Engineer and the Founder & CEO of Hanane Global Advisory Inc., an independent technical consulting firm based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), AI data center power infrastructure, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) integration, grid modernization, and power system protection.

She holds a University Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering from Moulay Ismail University, Superior School of Technology, Morocco, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT), Australia.

With more than 10 years of international engineering experience across Morocco, the United States, Canada, Southeast Asia, and Australia, Hanane began her career at ONEE, Morocco’s national electric utility, where she worked on high-voltage and medium-voltage transmission systems. She later held engineering roles in Houston, Texas, USA, supporting offshore Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, including a 750 kWh / 1.8 MW system utilizing GE Power Conversion technology, and completed field engineering assignments throughout Southeast Asia.

Hanane is currently completing her Master of Engineering (Electrical Systems) at the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT), Australia. Her research focuses on continuous grid-forming Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) control without mode switching for resilient AI data center power systems, with an expected completion date of December 2026.

In addition to her consulting work, she serves as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at EIT Australia and is an Official Global Brand Ambassador & Strategic Partner for EMTP®, promoting advanced electromagnetic transient simulation for modern power system applications. She is also recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice, where she shares technical insights with over 30,000 engineers and energy professionals worldwide.
