Webinar details
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming a powerful tool for engineering professionals but knowing how to use it effectively is the real game-changer. This webinar will explore how engineering personnel can leverage AI to enhance efficiency in their daily work. From acting as a sounding board and generating ideas during troubleshooting, to streamlining project scheduling, AI can help engineers work smarter, not harder.
- The webinar will be recorded and will be sent out to registered attendees afterwards.
- A certificate of attendance will be provided to attendees who request one near the end of the live webinar session.
- Please note: the time stated on this event is in UTC. You will need to convert this to your own time zone.

Steve Mackay, EIT’s Dean of Engineering
Dr Steve Mackay is a Chartered Professional engineer, entrepreneur, educator and international speaker with more than four decades of experience working with engineers, technicians, tradespeople, operators, supervisors and managers across a broad range of industrial sectors.
His engineering career has involved extensive work in industrial automation, electrical engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, mining, utilities, infrastructure and technology-based organisations. Throughout this time he has focused on helping engineers and organisations solve practical engineering problems and improve operational performance.
He currently serves as Managing Principal of the Engineering College of Technology (ECT) in the United Kingdom and has spent the last several years investigating and applying Artificial Intelligence across engineering, maintenance, industrial automation and educational environments. This is a sister institution of the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT), a specialist engineering education institution serving engineering professionals from more than 160 countries.
His focus is not on the hype surrounding AI, but on a simple question:
“How can engineers, technicians and managers use AI NOW to improve the way they work?”
Participants consistently value his practical approach, engaging presentation style and ability to explain complex technical topics in a manner that is immediately useful to engineering professionals.
Philosophy
“Engineering is about solving practical problems. AI is simply another tool in the engineer’s toolbox. Like every engineering tool, it must be applied with sound judgement, practical experience and common sense.”
